Issue about reusing cells - (Feb/23/2019 )

Hi there, my name Jone

I know this is not a deep question, but I would like the following to be clarified. I have selected a colony of BL21(DE3) picked up from LB-agar plate to inoculate a liquid medium an hour ago. But I realized I screwed up and would like to do it. The LB-agar plate has been left in room temperature for an hour or so. Can I select another colony form that plate again? Could I put the LB-agar plate back into the incubator before inoculating again?

any comment would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

It's a little late - but yes, the plate and liquid culture should be fine. I would not re-incubate the plate unless you see a need to get bigger colonies.  I would in future recommend that after incubation you store your plates at 4 C.
