DMSO IS DANGEROUS TO MICROBES? - (Apr/02/2018 )

What will be the minimum concentration of DMSO to kill the microorganisms?

-Siniya-

Depends on the type of microorganism.

Thankyou.

"Dangerous" is a subjective term of no technical meaning.  Most substance at some concentration have an effect on microorganisms.  DMSO is commonly used at low levels to solubilize antimicrobials (of poor water solubility) for susceptibility testing.   It does have effect that has to be controlled in such studies.   http://ispub.com/IJMB/7/1/5909.
