Dipyridyl with Trypticase soy broth - (Mar/29/2018 )

Can Dipyridyl is soluble in Trypticase soy broth?

-Siniya-

the bipyridines are slightly soluble in water so it depends on how much you want to mix in.

How to dilute 0.16g of dipyridyl in to 5ml of bacterial culture at 37?C? The melting point of dipyridyl is 73?C.

-Siniya-

Can anyone help please...

-Siniya-

I would dissolve probably in alcohol to make a stock solution, then work from there.

Thankyou.

you can usually get solubility data at the suppliers website or in the merck index. then you can make a stock with the solvent most compatible with your system (alcohol, dmso, etc). bear in mind that some things will still come out of solution when mixed with aqueous solutions.
