Hello.

¿Is there in the literature papers about the proliferative state of a tumoral cell line 24hs post seeded?? In the laboratory alway we have the same discussion about the correct moment to perform a drug treatment over culture cells. I think that treat cells with experimental drugs just 24h after seeded, is not the right moment, is a mistake, because they are non proliferative, arrested cells.

Is it true?

The answer here is: it depends on the drug and the cell line. Many cell lines are immortal and will be proliferating well within 24 hours of seeding, so you can drug treat them whenever you like. You may want to consider the cell cycle point of the cells; a general population will be about 70% G1/G0, but this depends on the cell line and can be altered by a huge number of factors.

As for the drug - what does it do? and how does it do it? If you have a drug that inhibits proliferation, then you need to apply it to a proliferating cell for it to be effective. The point at which you apply it is up to you. Having said that, most people would seed the cells and treat at some time after that, usually when the cells are established, 24 hours is a nice easy time to do this and so is commonly used. You can sometimes apply drugs during seeding, but this may alter attachment of the cells and hence proliferation.
