SDS PAGE gel length effect on resolution - (Aug/22/2016 )

we perform SDS page of protein with 12-15% gel. We are currently using gel length of 10 X 10 Cm and are planning to switch over to a new system that has its dimension of 8.3 X 7.3 cm. Kindly guide me what will the effect be on the bands resolution / separation on reducing the gel dimension. thanks in anticipation megha

your bands will be less separated but their R_fs will remain the same (if length is the only difference).
