Poster presenting a scientific idea/technique, not results - (Sep/21/2015 )

Hi, does anyone have any tips or an internet resource concerning on how to create a scientific poster that does not present results, but only a scientific idea/technique ?

Not sure why this would be different from a poster with results?

I already had posters that deal with a technique.. the result is simple the technique that works (proof of principle).

Or what do you exactely mean?

I think problems would be rather to find a section and/or conference organisers that will accept such a poster and second I don't know if it's a good idea to announce a (hopefully good) idea to the public, so that others can pick it up and publish results before you did.

I.e. might be a bit risky if you don't have already sufficient research on this to be the first.
