SHSH5Y cells - (Jul/25/2015 )

Hi Everyone,

I am using SHSY5Y cells to find out IC50 value of a metal using MTT, i suspect that presence of serum could interfere with metal uptake and decided to grow cells overnight in DMEM 10% FBS and then after oveernight growth i switched on to DMEM alone and incubated the cells at 37 C for one hour and treated @ various conc. Will manintaing cells in DMEM alone leads to poor uptake of metals or induces cells to undergo senescence or will it affect the outcome of the experiment.
