Please HELP with an Biochemistry assignment! - (May/11/2015 )
Hello. I am sorry if my topic is not allowed here. I know that here I can find experts in Biochemistry so I decided to ask here. I am desperate! I am really not good in biochemistry, but I have to complete an assignment. I need to write about the following: " An effect of activators on kinetics of enzymatic reactions. types of activators and graphic representation of activation". Could you please navigate me where to take the material from? What might be the plan of the assignment? Any advice here will be very appreciated! I can't find clear materials on this topic. Does the activator mean a cofactor? is this the same? I am so lost. Please, smart people, help me.
Thank you!
Guys, sorry...I was in a hurry while writing this and made a lot of mistakes.
Activators can refer to many things, from upstream kinases and acetyltransferases to cofactors (that are probably themselves activated by a kinase or acetyltransferase). An energy diagram could help with your understanding of how these activators work. As for graphic representation, are you referring to the actual shift in molecular structures (as would be reconstructed from a crystallography structure) or a more generic "Pac-Man" diagram? If the latter, just use your imagination.
