How to find transmembrane domains - (Apr/17/2015 )

I have just started a thesis that requires me finding the four transmembrane domains of a gene coded GABRP. I am completely new to bioinformatics but I have been able to identify it and have compared it to that of other species but at amino acid and nucleotide levels. Can some please direct me on how to go about this.

You need to look at the amino acid sequence and look for clusters of amino acids that are hydrophobic separated by hydrophilic regions.  There are a number of online predictors that can help with this too, just search for transmembrane predictors.
