I'm new to microarray. Most paper that's I've read on microarray  uploaded the data to an online repository. Why would one make your data available online to everyone? I'm sure I'm missing a key point here.

Making your data (even microarray) available online is useful to other scientists and research students. That's is the whole point about open access.
