TOP10F´ Chemically Competent E. coli - (Dec/04/2014 )

I found there was a product called "TOP10F´ Chemically Competent E. coli" from Invitrogen by chance. I was quite curious what made it different from commonly used chemically competent cells. How did the F' benefit the tranformation efficiency?

I hope someone could help me figure it out and explain a little bit about its molecular mechanism. Thanks.

And here is the webpage of that product.

The F plasmid has pretty much nothing to do with the transformation.

You do not need these cells if you do not need the F plasmid... its better (and cheaper if I remember correctly) to just buy the TOP10 cells.

So it just depends on whether you need the F plasmid or not.
