Low A260/230 after gel extraction - (Jul/21/2014 )

Hello, could I get some suggestions on how to improve DNA purity after gel extraction? My specific issue is low A260/230 ratio, around 0.5. The DNA concentration of my yield is about 35 ng/ul. I am using the large fragment recovery kit from Zymo Research on a DNA fragment about 25 kb. Thanks everyone.

Thisi is often the presence of Gu-HCl from the binding buffer. Wash a second time with the wash buffer, and make sure you dry spin at high speed before elution.
