What is the function of halotolerant test？ - (Jul/16/2014 )

Dear all,

Does anyone know what is the other reason for us to carry out halotolerant test towards probiotics instead of determine the type of food products to which they can successfully added?

I think he/she just means a halotorelant test, to check the tolerance against salt (concentration)

I it nothing special/different.

To answer his question, as far as I know it, I can not really see any different/other reason.

It just says something about the bacteria/probiotics to survive the salty/high osmotic stress environment of certain foods... but further...

Thanks for the reply. I meant is there any relate to our human body? As acidity test and bile salt tolerant test which use to test against certain toleration in our human body.
