DNA exraction from parasites - (Jul/11/2014 )

Dear all,

I have to do DNA extraction from parasites taken from fish, the aim is strain identification.

Being this my first time doing so, I explored the net, and found the paper attached.

The modifications applied, are pretty convincing ...

I have wizard genomics kit from promega in the lab.

Before I try it, I thought of asking you for the kit/protocol you apply ???

I always prefer extraction kits because usually are less toxic than organic extraction and the second method that I prefer is the salting out.  My favorite kit is Dneasy from Qiagen because the name say it all is very easy.
