Can cells be exposed to nanoparticles with ethanol as solvent??? - (Jul/10/2014 )

Hello all!!!

I am working on studying the effect of NPs on prt. exp. in cancer cells and the NP's i got from the lab are disperesed in ethanol. So my question is : Can i expose the cells directly to the mix or should i dilute it or do lsomething else???

Ethanol concentrations above about 0.5-1% (depending on cell line) are lethal to cells.  You probably need to dilute your nanoparticle suspension in culture medium.
