how to transport stem cells in suspension? - (Jul/07/2014 )

Hey, has anyone tried shipping overnight adherent mono-layered cultured cells in suspension. I used HIBERNATE®-E but seems like NSCs don't survive.

we can't ship cells frozen or in a flask because they have to be directly grafted in an animal because at the animal facility we can't culture cells.

best wishes

How long can you keep them in suspension before they die?  It might well be that the cells require attachment for survival.

You could try using a low binding surface (just google it for your favourite brands), they should be better for keeping the cells in suspension than regular cell culture treated flasks.

Thats a good idea, I will try it out
