Interpret Elisa test rerults - (Jun/22/2014 )

Hi all,

When we do Elisa tests, normally we read the results based on OD which normally is used in some recent publications of parasitology. However, someone advise me to convert into sera dilution. This seems to be more pricise than OD.

I have no idea about this. Can someone give me the advice?

Thanks

For you to be able to do this, you need to have a standard curve (run every time or establish a baseline by repeated measures), which is based off dilution - for instance you might do a 2-fold (i.e. 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16...) dilution series and read the OD.  Plot one against the other and use the equation generated to calculate the concentration of the serum needed to get the test results.
