Blocking agent in western blotting of histone proteins - (Jun/09/2014 )
Dear Friends,
I am doing western blotting of histone proteins and their post translational modifications using ABCAM antibodies. I wanted to ask what should i use as a blocking agent. Normally i have used 5% BSA as a blocking agent in my other blotting experiments other than histones
Regards :)

According to the Odyssey people, BSA should be avoided in most cases as it tends to give more non-specific binding. Try 3-5% non-fat milk powder in PBS-T or TBS-T.
