Protein Purification from mammalian cells - (Apr/09/2014 )

Hi, as the title says my boss told me to purify proteins from mammalian cells using ammonium sulfate fractionalization and ion exchange chromatography. Can you please provide some guidelines for ion exchange chromatography for proteins from mammalian cells, how much proteins should I have and in what volume for this to be economically viable, where are the pitfalls, how much time will it take.
