mRNA copies of each gene under different promoters - (Mar/20/2014 )

Hi;

how may copies of mRNA do you get from each plasmid in mammalian cells, transient transfection, under different promoters?

I am looking for some comparison, eg. how many copies of mRNA from each gene under CMV versus CAG or SV40 or whatever else.

I found this paper http://www.plosbiology.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pbio.0040309 that seems to suggest that number of copies of mRNA is around <50, but I dont know what to think about it.

Thanks for any references!

This is one of those things that is virtually impossible to measure, as it is very hard to determine how many copies of the plasmid are present in a cell, though in theory this can be measured by qPCR.  So - short answer: you aren't likely to find this information.
