DNA from frozed cells??? - (Jan/07/2014 )

Hi

Please, can you help me. Is it possible to extract DNA from frozed cells. I would melt the cells. Fuge the cells the bottom of the tube, wash them once with PBS, and make DNA isolationaccording to the DNA isolation- kit. Does DMSO (used in the freezed cells) bother DNA analysis?

Yes you can extract DNA from frozen cells, just pellet them out after thawing take out the supernatant and start with kit protocol.  washing is optional and i dont think the left over DMSO do harm further steps or DNA.
