DEPC Treatment of Water - (Nov/18/2013 )

I was wondering if anyone has tips on making DEPC treated water. I'm not sure how many precautions I should take when using it, I do however pipette the solution into my water in a fume hood. I usually prepare several liters at a time in separate containers, heat to 37C for 2 hours, then autoclave on a liquid cycle for 30 minutes, the whole cycle takes about an hour. Should this been good enough to inactivate the DEPC? thanks!

I usually add DEPC, shake, and leave overnight, then autoclave in the morning. Your approach almost certainly also works.
