SNP in the promoter region - (Oct/25/2013 )

 I need your help

What is the best way to start up to know the effect of SNP that is present in the promoter region of the gene.

I want to know how this SNP effect the gene function and expression.

Any suggestions please

If it is a known SNP you can go to Ensembl and see what is known about it. Another good resource is dbSNP.
