difference between an EST and a transcript sequence - (Sep/14/2013 )

Hi everyone

Can any one tell me what is the difference between an EST and a transcript sequence both derived by next-generation sequencing?

ESTs are not derived from next-g sequencing, but from single pass sequencing of cDNA clones. I am not sure what you mean by "transcript sequence".  If they are from next-g sequencing, it could mean any transcribed RNA sequence.
