PCR machine not working properly - (Sep/04/2013 )

Hi,

     Does anybody has ever opened Quanta biotech PCR machine. My PCR machine is not working properly. lid temperature is not coming, software is showing two lines with no proper expected temperature. Inside fans are not working immediately after start of instrument.

Never did it with such a machine, but with some of other manufacturers. It was useless. Some types have diagnose and self-test options. Anyway IMO except you're an experienced "tinkerer" and have a source for spare parts it's useless to try it yourself. Especially if the electronics have a problem or if some special parts are broken which only the company has a supply or know how it was programmed etc.

Therefore I'd contact the service of the company. This is also because the machine needs afterwards a calibration to be sure to reach the expected temperatures within the limits.
