Unfortunately your question makes no sense - adding *any* amount of pure ethanol to cells will kill them by removing the fats from the membrane.  I think, perhaps, you are looking for a concentration...

To which the answer is.. the magical "it depends" on the cell type and even the cell line, some cell types are relatively resistant to the addition of various things to their media, but others will only tolerate tiny amounts.
