something very basic, why called "event-specific detection" - (Jul/13/2013 )
Hi all,
I am preparing some research for detecting Genetically modified food, and found that people usually use the word
"event-specific detection" for describing the RT-PCR detection of the 35S promoter and NOS terminator.
Why this name is used...? what exactly the meaning of "event-specific" mean ?
Thx and Cheers
-lactamase-
event-specific detection is a PCR method to detect a transgene from one particular GMO. If the sample contains many GMOs, only the presence of that specific GMO will be answered by this method.
