Understanding methylation for beginners - (Jul/02/2013 )

I am curious to understand where exactly in the body methylation occurs, and some more basic details about it.

Methylation of DNA? If so, it occurs in the cells in the nucleus.

I did not know there was more than 1 type of methylation, and so this occurs in all cells or what?

There is also methylation of RNA, done by DNMT2. So to be precise, it can be found in the nucleus and the cytosol.
