Biofilm formation - (Jun/12/2013 )

Hello to forum members,

I have 2 questions and your input is greatly appreciated.

1- What is the best way to grow bacterial biofilm on a plate and food? I am doing some reading on that and have not been able yet to tell the best way. Any one worked in biofilm???

Thx in advance!

You mean a clean plate ?
And food?

Are you talking about the optimal temperature etc?

oh sorry i should have been clearer!

I mean biofilm formation on a food contact surface and surface of food.

I am interested in knowing how long would it take to develop the biofilm? and this duration is based on which approach?

Depends on where you keep the food, what kind of food it is, what type of bacteria are present in the food at the time the experiment starts...

Its a very wide question... its not really specific.

Ever kept food out the refrigerator (food that had to be in the refrigerator)? Iguess you did.. how long did it take to see bacteria growing on/in it?
