Is it possible to use wireless connection to control and monitor FPLC? - (May/08/2013 )
I am working in an incubation center that provide bench space for Biotech starter. I need to find a way to control FPLC and monitor protein purification without driling hole in the cold room. All I can think of is to use wireless connection, I have found some part that can convert serial port connection into wireless, but I am not sure if it gonna work? Has anyone tried?
Potentially you could do so, but you would need appropriate drivers I would have thought.
you also have to make sure the signal will pass through the walls of the cold room.
I was able to control the fplc remotely by connecting the controlling computer to a wireless router. But if the cold room has metal walls, then electromagnet waves cannot pass through.
