experiments to determine the relationship between proteins - (May/03/2013 )

Hello,

I am working on outer membrane integral enzyme of E. coli called PagP. Apart from its role as acyl transferase, it seems to cause signal transduction when there is a perturbation in outer membrane asymmetry. We are suspecting that PagP is cleaving the lipoprotein, slyB, which is in the inner leaflet of outer membrane to cause the signal transduction to occur. Can you suggest me the possible experiments to determine the relationships between these two proteins?

Reliable maybe, depends on the antibodies used. However, it is a well established technique with a long history of being used for this sort of thing.
