get EST/ cDNA accession number for protein - (Feb/06/2013 )
Hi everyone!
So I'm trying to get the EST accession sequences for the following protein:
There are several ways of finding the corresponding mRNA or EST sequences.
If you are interested in mRNA sequences related to this particular protein, you can search the UniProt database and find the record for this protein http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P10916, scroll to the lower part of the page to the section "Cross-references", there you will be able to find mRNA sequence. Also you can click the Unigene link further down, you will be able to find associated ESTs http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/UniGene/clust.cgi?ORG=Hs&CID=75535
If you are interested in the gene, not the particular protein, you can search NCBI gene database to reach this page for MYL2 gene
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/4633, scroll down to the lower part of the page to the section "mRNA and proteins" you will be able to find both mRNA and protein sequences. One the gene page, you will also be able to find link to unigene page which gives your related ESTs.
