Plasmid compatibly groups - (Feb/05/2013 )

Hi all,
I need to use 2 plasmid with different ori's ,pMB1 and pBBR1 based plasmids.

Are they compatible?

Couldn't find it over the web.

Thanks

Compatible for what?

With each other

for cloning? expression? growth?...

I would like to use pMB1 based plasmid for protein expression under arabinose inducible promoter . And pBBR1 plasmid that carries lacZ under control of a specific promoter that should to be activated by the inducible protein. Can both of these plasmids reside in E. coli at the same time ?

Thanks

Well, it seems that pMB is designed for eukaryotic expression, but it will surely replicate in bacteria without problems, I don't know about the expression from it in bacteria. pBBR seems like a normal sort of vector, so I don't see any problem there.

I think it will work, but your best bet is to try it and see.
