In and out of cell Help 2 - (Oct/27/2012 )
3) Cell in Very much hypotonic solution or Cytolysis
4) Simple diffusion. Equal on both sides.
( In real all will be outside- Nobody want to seat in empty theater with no movie )
Can you please help me with this ones.
1) Hundreds of people are waiting outside an empty movie theatre waiting to run in and claim seats to see Puss in Boots. All entrance to the theatre is through a single turnstile, monitored by an usher checking tickets. When the theatre doors open and people first start moving into the theatre, which transport process does this most resemble (simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion, or active transport) AND WHY?
2) An hour later, the same theatre is completely filled with a movie-goer in every seat plus another 100 people standing in the aisles and crowding the entrance to the theatre. One last person is outside the turnstile, desperately wanting to get in the theatre. If the usher pushes all the people crowding the door out of the way and shoves the last person inside the door to the theatre, what transport process does this most resemble AND WHY?
1) Facilitated Diffusion - Facilitated diffusion inclues symporter, antiporter etc. - Ticket serve function of symporter ion in this case
2) Active transport- When molecules/Ions are already more inside biological system energy is needed to push more molecules into it.
@prabhubct: Obvious homework/exam questions please try to get the questioner to answer the question before you supply the answer fully. Helps the asker learn and makes sure that if they are exam questions, then the delay will usually be enough to make sure that they can't use your answers for cheating...
Oh, Thanks. I'm little slow at these things. Next time .
