secondary antibodies! - (Oct/15/2012 )

I need to order secondary antibodies!

So I’m working with Sendai virus, and I want to study the proteins produced during the early stages of an infection. I will be running a Western blot. My Primary antibody is (Rabbit) targeted against Sendai virus in general. I would like to know what would be the best Secondary antibody to purchase ?
I know there was pervious success with a: Goat anti-Rabbit IgG conjugated to HRP

A number of companies sell Goat anti-Rabbit IgG conj to HRP, but, the companies also offer a wide range of target specificity (i.e. IgG (gamma) Fc, H+L, and so on…). Which should I use? or even better if someone could point me to a book or a link to website that explains what to use and when,, that would be great!

This: http://www.piercenet.com/files/TR0059-Choose-second-Ab.pdf will give you a good overview. We usually get our labelled secondaries from Jackson Immunoresearch...they are reliable and the prices are quite reasonable.

Thanks, that link didn't seem to work for me; but, I'm finding some really useful information here: http://www.pierce-antibodies.com/products/secondary-antibodies/
