Time on ice before prepping - (Jul/14/2012 )

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if it was OK to put my culture in the 4C fridge for an entire day before I prepped it. Would my maxiprep still work out OK? Any idea how it will affect the plasmid quality/yield?

I think it's best to spin down the pellet - then you can store it in the fridge overnight or even freeze it if necessary. That said, I've thrown my liquid culture in the fridge and prepped it later with no obvious problems.

Thanks Jakester, I think the prep worked out OK. It was in the fridge about 24 hours.
