on comparison of vertical and horizontal electrophoresis what are ones advantages and disadvantages ???

For what samples?

in general, what is the advantage of one over the other ???

It depends on what you are trying to do - (assuming you mean acrylamide gels here too) vertical generally = thin gels, good resolution, but smaller sample volumes. horizontally= thick gel, poorer resolution but much bigger samples, easier to access for cutting out bands/band elution.
