Blood tube for WBC analysis - (May/15/2012 )
Hi all,
I'm just starting into blood research after a few years in culture cell biology, so apologies for the basic questions.
We will be looking to find and enumerate particular WBCs from an initial sample of whole blood in a microfluidic system. Unfortunately, the vast numbers of RBCs are causing some issues for us.
Is there a type of blood collection tube that will deplete the numbers of RBCs in a sample while leaving the WBCs largely in solution?
Many thanks for all advice.

You can lyse them using a red blood cell lysis buffer? That is pretty common practice. You should be able to find a protocol and recipe fairly easy by asking Professor Google
