temperature tolerance of animal cells - (Apr/06/2012 )

Dear,

Does anyone knows if animal cells are resistent againts a temperature of 95°C.
I tested bacterial cells, and know, bacterial cell burst at this temperature.
Do animal cell burst at 95°C?

greetz,

Susan

What do you think?

Animal cells are more complex then bacterial cells ...

And about the bursting of bacterial cells at 95°C ... not all bacterial cells burst at 95°C ....

only dead cells like post-apoptotic keratonocytes but living animal cells will get necrotic at 95°C...

-Inmost sun-

But many bio-molecules will denature and solubilised at 95°c, allowing for lipids and protein complexes to disassoicate and allowing exposure of nucleic acids
