course of study vs field of study - (Mar/23/2012 )

I am filling out an internship application form in which I should insert my "Proposed course and field of study". I am not sure what is the difference between course and field of study. could anyone help me with this?

The field of study is what you intend to study (e.g. genetics) and course is the degree (e.g. MSc, PhD...)
