Measuring turbidity by Spectrophotometer - (Mar/20/2012 )

I want to measure turbidity by specrophotometer, but I do not know how. can anyone help me?

This is essentially just an absorbance measurement - you will need to know the optimal absorbance wavelength to use.

we used to use the highest energy wavelengths (500-600nm) and compare the absorbance compared to a non-turbid blank. it's not necessarily absorbance but light scatter that reduces the amount of light that reaches the photomultiplier.

you can, if you want, present the result as %transmittance.

thank you very much.
