Kd value from Km value - (Oct/31/2011 )

I have a enzyme and I know its Km, Vm and Kcat value but I dont know its Kd value. How to drive the Kd value from Km value. I shall be very thankful to you for your kind reply.

best regards

The Km is approximately the KD (dissociation constant) for the substrate

-Bluefunk-

Agree with Bluefunk. Km and Kd are different , but at the same order. Usually, they are measured with different assays. I do not think you can convert Kd from Km.

-CAT-

dissociation constant(Kd) is a specific type of equilibrium constant that measures the propensity of a larger object to separate (dissociate) reversibly into smaller components, as when a complex falls apart into its component molecules, or when a salt splits up into its component ions.
