I just tried the TBARS assay after 30mins of treatment and... no luck.

How common is for the cells to start producing ROS without lipid peroxidation as a consequence? Is it plausible that the increase in ROS can simply function as signaling not having other consequences like the peroxidation?

Yes, I will perform a catalase activity assay to see if I have differences in scavenging.

Regarding the other question... my drug fluoresces but at a very different wavelenght (both excitation and emission) than the probe does.
