Combination of secondary antibodies - (Aug/05/2011 )
Ciao!
I just read something and I think authors made a mistake, but I'm not sure: can you combine a FITC-labeled Goat anti-Rabbit Ab with a TRITC-labeled Rabbit anti-Mouse Ab? Won't they react with each other, giving false positives as a result? So, one might think he has co-localizes two proteins, but actually it's just the two secondary antibodies reacting? Or is the fluorescent marker preventing binding?
Greetz,

you're correct. the anti-rabbit should interact with the anti-mouse. maybe the authors stripped between probes?

Thanks! I thought so already, but wanted to check! If they did the stripping, then they certainly didn't mention anything about it? Strange.
Bye!

P.S.: love your quote!
