Doubt in 3T3-L1 Differentiation - (May/17/2011 )

I am beginner in Cell culture. I am doing 3T3-L1 cell culture and want to differentiate them to Adipocytes. My question is that should I wash the cells with PBS (-) each time during addition of diiferentiation media and during addition of Insulin-only media and further media change? Will washing with PBS affect the differentiation and oil droplets?

When I was differentiating them, I found washing them (or not) did not affect the final product. what I would say that each batch of cells differentiate differently.

The population of 3t3 l1 is quite heterogenous.
