calculation from Molar to g/ml - (May/09/2011 )

Dear All,

The question may sound quite stupid, but a colleague of mine and me calculated several times and we cannot agree on this calculation. Therefore I would like to ask you if this calculation is correct.

We have a 2.5mM solution of a protein that is 25.9kDa.

25.9kDa=25900 g/mol = 25900 mg/mmol
2.5mM = 2.5 mmol/l

2.5*25900=64750 mg/l
so it is 64.75 mg/ml

do you agree?

thanks a lot for your help!

looks right to me

what does your colleague say?

ur answer is correct cellgene... i calculate like this

25900g - 1000mM
? - 2.5mM

64.75g - 2.5 mM - 1000 ml
? - 2.5 mM - 1ml

Answer - 64.75 mg
