immunocytochemistry - sequence of: Fix/Perm/Stain - Cytocentrifugation (Apr/19/2011 )

hey out there,

my question is, why one usually spin down the cells onto a slide and then fix/perm/stain cells???

can I also spin the cells after the staining procedure??? if yes, I can stain my cells for FACS analysis & use the same cells to spin down onto a slide? :)

thanks for recommendation

Sure, you can stain the cells for FACS and then sort (or spin) them directly onto a slide. However, you'll need to stain them again on the slide (at least use a secondary Ab), FACS stains are usually too weak to be detected in the microscope.
