Micro-RNA profiling for differentiating cells - (Feb/14/2011 )
Hi everyone,
I am trying to profile the micro-RNAs related to differentiation of progenitor cells towards a particular cell type. I have been in discussion with the tech support of different companies regarding this. SABioscience has a pathway focused miRNA RT-RCR assay kit which focuses on 88 miRNAs and is supposedly focused on miRNAs related to cell differentiation and development. I do wish to use this product as it's easier than profiling the entire genome, however I am unable to find any literature which specifies why has the company focused on these particular 88 miRNAs and this is making me concerned a bit. I shall be glad if anyone can give me suggestions regarding this. I wish to look into the gene expression pattern in the early stages of differentiation, but am wondering as to what happens if I do not find any statistically different expression pattern for these 88 miRNAs and what would be a good approach for the project, if I encounter such a situation.
Thanks
Kind regards
Xian
