RNAi is somatic and germline cells - (Jan/22/2011 )

I read a paper and want to clear about some concepts.
GFS was expressed in the c.elegnas and its was observed in the somatic cells and not in the germline cells, becasue in germline cells its get blocked by RNAi but in the somatic adult cells... why it is like this?????
There is not RNAi in the adult somatic cell????

There is RNAi in the somatic cells as far as I know, but perhaps there is no need for regulation of the gene by RNAi in the somatic cell, so the pathway is not active.

not understand fully

Presumably the GFS is doing something in the somatic cells, but it isn't needed in the germline cells... therefore the RNAi pathway for the GFS is switched off in the somatic cells, but is active in the germline cells.
