neural and endocrine system, why? - (Jan/08/2011 )
Just a question I asked myself when studying about the neural and endocrine system.
Why do we need both?
Neural is quicker then endocrine is one pro for the neural , but what are other advantages and why do we need both?
myths of evolution; endocrine system is evolutionary older than the nervous system. Exaggeratedly, the nervous system originally developed as a special part of the endocrine system, and took over tasks which needed faster reactions and more complex regulation than the ancient endocrine system could support.
So to state it simply: we had an endocrine system and because the need of faster reactions the nervous system "arose".
And by more complex.. isnt the endocrine system more complex really then the nervous system (in working)?
I mean: all the hormons that travel in the body.. it seems more complicated then the nervous system.
